I had a very difficult time relating to the main character. I just flat out didn't like Riley which made getting into the book for the first chapter rather difficult for me. Why the 3 stars? I enjoyed the scenes and chapters that followed. Towards the end I started to feel for Riley and even at one point felt a moment of compassion for her.
I immensely enjoyed Life of Riley Vol. One. It was nice to read about a strong female character that follows her heart. I feel that there are parts to Riley that are easy to relate to and on the other hand, I would love to have friend like her. But the best part of this story is that it has a more realistic aspect and less hearts and flowers. The other characters in the book were interesting and I enjoyed the end where you got a peek into their minds and little more of their stories. Not like anything else I've read, which was refreshing. I look forward to reading more from this author.
